**Important Notice** We would like to let all of our Members know that The Sports & Social Club Committee have reviewed the overall spending within the club. As we now have over 2.300 members to facilitate with our various events and draws, the club has taken the decision that hoping forward from January 2025 we will prioritise our members and offer discount to members only. In the interest of fairness to our paying members the decision was taken to no longer offer discount to + 1. Members may still bring a friend to an event ( unless it states otherwise if the event has limited numbers) and will have to pay the full price. Thank you

We are pleased to announce that we have good news, we hope it will cheer you all up on this windy Sunday. Every year the shops & businesses on our Letterkenny Hospitals Sports and Social club Discount List have very kindly donated spot prizes for our Annual Christmas Dinner Dance. As this event unfortunately did not go ahead this year, we have decided to have a massive draw with all of these prizes starting on Monday 16th Dec. This draw will also include the cash prizes that would have been drawn on the night also. We have how ever, decided instead of the larger cash prize, to split it up evenly – so for the next 5 days, starting tomorrow, the winners will be drawn & posted including a mix of cash prizes & vouchers to be won. So the very best of luck to all of our members & keep any eye out every day for your name & who knows, hopefully it could be you. As you are all aware, we had a table set up for refunds/sales for our 2024 Sports & Social Club Christmas Dinner Dance. What has transpired is that we have had to make the unfortunate decision to cancel this event due to insufficient numbers being able to attend on this date. On behalf of our S&S committee we are deeply saddened to have to make this decision after all of the hard work that has already gone into the planning, but it is the right decision under the circumstances. Our table will be set up again tomorrow Thursday 12th Dec from 12 – 2pm outside the canteen tomorrow Thursday to refund any outstanding tickets you may have.

Don’t forget that our Letterkenny Hospitals Sports & Social Club Christmas Dinner Dance has been Re-scheduled for Friday 20th December @ The Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal with The Kavanagh Brothers Band. For those of you that cannot make this new date we would ask you please to visit our table outside the Canteen Today Wednesday 11th and tomorrow Thursday 12th December from 12 – 2pm for a refund or to purchase tickets. We hope that you are still all available to attend as it is always a great night to socialise and have fun. There will still be lots of prizes to be won on the night including the taking part in the main members draw.

The even better news & please share…. We have managed to re-schedule our Letterkenny Hospitals Sports & Social Club Christmas Dinner Dance on Friday 20th December @ The Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal with The Kavanagh Brothers Band. Under the circumstances we understand that this date may not suit everyone. So we have arranged for some of our committee members on Monday 9th to contact the people that have block booked tables for departments to try to rearrange refunds or possibly keep their places for our new date. We have also arranged a table for refunds and New Sales on Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th December from 12-2pm. The table for sales will be announced on Monday 9th when we can confirm our spot. We hope that you will all still attend as it is always a great night to socialise and have fun. There will still be many prizes to be won on the night including the taking part in the main members draw. So please stay posted & watch out for further information on Monday 9th December.

So……I have good news & some even better news. Firstly the good news is ……………….. We have drawn 2 prizes of €1000 which was meant to be announced at tonight’s Dinner Dance. 1st prize of €1000 is for Bronagh Kennedy from Discharge Liason Dept. The 2nd prize of €1000 is for Jennifer McColgan Retired Maternity Dept. !! IMPORTANT MESSAGE !! PLEASE SHARE Unfortunately a decision has been taken by The National & Regional Managers, The National Incident Team, and the Gardai have advised that no travel must be made with A Red Weather Warning in place and that all functions should be cancelled under the circumstances. The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is also advising road users in area affected by the RED warning to avoid any travel during the storm window. Again we are very sorry to be delivering this news after all of the hard work, a discussion will take place and a decision made regarding the possibility of another date. We will inform you all in due course.

!! IMPORTANT MESSAGE!! We have been receiving a lot of messages the Red Weather Warning and our members are wondering if our Dinner Dance will be going ahead tonight or not. We are currently awaiting confirmation from a National Meeting which is being held presently and need to take all of the appropriate care and consideration for everyone attending our function tonight.
